The Oculus Rift Won’t Support Macs Anytime Soon Posted by Evan Selleck on Mar 01, 2017 in Gadgets Way back when, the virtual reality (VR) headset, the Oculus Rift, supported Macs.
Oculus Rift Setup 2017 Bundle with 2 Sensors Unboxing the Oculus Rift in my other video: After unboxing the Rift Bundle, I am now ready to set it up. Follow along as I get everything hooked up, calibrated and take it for a first spin in Assetto Corsa.
Setting up the Oculus Rift was fairly straight forward. Although there were no good setup instructions included in printed form, their website walks you through downloading the Oculus software, which guides you through the setup process. I did run into some minor issues during the calibration of the headset, so I had to restart the process. After that everything worked. Besides development, I plan on using the Rift for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Racing Sims primarily.
Being a real world pilot, I can honestly say that this is the absolute closest I have ever felt to being in the actual plane. This should make for some efficient practice. If you like the video, like and subscribe and leave your questions in the comments. I'll be sure to answer them if I can. And remember, as fun as 'virtual adventures' can be, don't forget to get out there and explore, fly, drive etc. In the real world!
